OMG. Spartans did not make to playoffs… in first 6 games they were 4-1-1, in last 6 games 1-5-0. Reply

It is also luck ……. Falcons are some of the luckiest guys as I know it ….. They also win the one crucial game they have to win as luck often favors the brave ….. Spartans …. I agree they bombed big time in the latter half of the season and most of the comments I have heard have been brutally unkind to them but Spartans need to play on some other teams during the off tournaments and try to study how others do it and what they need to improve on because this is a learning opportunity and they need to learn and understand that every failure is a stepping stone if used wisely for future success …… Playoff cricket is all about 50 to 60 runs and mental grit, determination and chemistry ….. Teams aiming for the moon flare out like comets due to unrealistic targets. Spartans if they don\’t learn anything from this are bound to repeat this same mistake ….. So they need to be smart and spend some time analyzing, talking to other well wishers and bright minds and make adjustments and come back stronger Reply

Interesting stat. Yesterday I was at DSP grounds and overheard somebody saying that Pana from FCC while batting faced more than 200 balls in this year's DCL. It is more than 33 overs. Is it true? I don't think he made much of runs, but still FCC made it to playoffs. Congrats FCC. Reply

Arsenal vs Stallions should be a good game. Arsenal boys (Ifti, Shaker, Tahmin, Saiyeed, Ahsan and others) dominated MICHA finals winning both shield and trophy beating cream of Glads and Knockers (Novi) and other DCL teams. Let’s see if they can translate the same in DCL. Reply

Viju bhai, what is your take on Saturday weather? Saturday weather looks decent, but if anything worse happens is Sunday game possible or postpone to week after? Reply

I believe backup grounds will be booked and game will be played on Saturday and if that does not work due to rain then it will be played on Sunday. If both days are rained out then next week(Sept 26) will see PQF on Sat and QF on Sunday …… under no circumstances will a team be asked to play two games on the same day but if weather forces the issue then it is fair game to play back to back games on Sat and Sun. The idea is to stick to the schedule as much as possible so that we can finish the DCL Finals by the second Saturday of October as has generally been the case. It is understood that any team wanting to win the DCL Title has to battle the opponents and the elements. Cold weather generally calls for lower scoring games as the ball and the grounds behave a little different and add to that better bowling in the playoff we are in for a defensive battle all the way Reply

As we are getting closer to weekend, having both games on Saturday seems highly unlikely ( specially the afternoon games ). Not sure what the backup plans are but most likely it will be case as mentioned in Viju's comments. I am sure everyone will be waiting for official words from committee though. Reply

Viju bhai , I still remember you bating resistance in final against falcons, you and ronak almost pulled that game to victory. Good luck this year again and play freely , you already won the cup and can take more risk from now on, you and your team accomplished a lot in the last two years, all the best Reply
